Which Would You Choose, PS Vita or Nintendo Switch?
The PS Vita allows you to play PlayStation games anywhere you go, and there are also many indie games on the platform. The Switch does have an impressive lineup this year, but a lot of its content is either multi-platform or older games that were previously released on other platforms. Also, Switch can't connect to the Bluetooth headset without the Switch Bluetooth controller.
Both the PS Vita and the Nintendo Switch offer great gaming experiences for different tastes. However, both devices have their flaws as well, which is why you must know which one is right for you.
Vitas online network
The coolest part of owning a PlayStation Vita is online multiplayer. I don’t think many people realize how excellent it is. It’s built-in with the PSN network, so you can play with your friends online, download games directly onto your PS Vita, and other fun stuff. You can even chat between your PS3 and Vita using a special app called “PS App”, which works well if your PS3 and Vita are in the same room.
The PS Vita has a network of its own, allowing you to play games even when you're not near your console. It even allows you to chat with friends in real-time. Playing online is an important activity for many gamers, and the PS Vita makes it easy.
Better battery life
The PS Vita has better gaming battery life than the Nintendo Switch. Vita's battery runs at 3.6V, with a capacity of 1000 mAh. It can be charged quite quickly, as it only takes one hour to charge with a 1A charger. It measures 6.5mm in thickness and weighs 195 grams, and it includes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for wireless payments and data exchanges. Switch charges late and the battery timing isn’t that great.
Cross support
I just wanted to comment on how Sony has done more to support and help not only developers but also the consumers than Nintendo has. There are a lot of people that have been crying out for cross-platform play, but all we hear out of Nintendo is “Hey, sorry to disappoint you, but it's just not possible.” That's just one of several things that Sony supports out of the box in Vita.
Bottom Line
PlayStation and Nintendo are two of the best gaming companies in the world. Their respective consoles — PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch — currently dominate the market, but many gamers still don’t know which one to choose.
There is a lot of confusion about which console you should buy, especially considering that both have their advantages (and disadvantages). This article is not an attempt to decide which console is better for you. Rather, it will help you understand what each of them has to offer so that you can make an informed decision.
